FACULTY & STAFF
QLU Keystone’s faculty & staff is composed of committed educators and professionals who will provide personalized education and assistance to our students prioritizing their personal, academic, and professional success. In the 2019-2020 school year, The Keystone School employed over 92 state certified teachers. The Keystone School teachers have an average of 12 years of instructional experience, and over 83% have earned masters or doctoral degrees in education or their area of instructional specialty.
Oscar Leon
Oscar holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Louisville and a Master of Arts in Higher Education Administration from the University of Louisville and a Professorship in Middle School Education and Pedagogy from Universidad Francisco Marroquin. Oscar has more than 30 years of teaching and university management experience. He has taught in elementary, middle school, high school, undergraduate and graduate college programs. In his role as President of Quality Leadership University he provides the vision and strategy direction to develop strong partnerships and quality programs and services.
Mariana Leon
Mariana holds a Bachelor of Political Science in International Relations from the University of Louisville, a Master of Business Administration from Florida International University, and a Doctor of Education in Entrepreneurial Leadership in Education from Johns Hopkins University. Mariana has more than 15 years of experience managing academic and research programs. As Academic VP she is responsible for the design of academic programs, research, and engagement.
Tammy Smith
Tammy Smith holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University and a Master of Human Resources Training and Development from the University of Louisville. Tammy has more than 20 years of experience managing university programs and operations. She is responsible for all financial and administration areas of the group of educational institutions.
Maria Alejandra Quintero
María Alejandra holds a Bachelor of Marketing from Universidad del Istmo, a Master of Business Administration from Florida International University, and a Master of Marketing from University of Chile. She has training certificates in Academic Dean’s Programs from AACSB International and ACBSP. Maria Alejandra has more than 15 years of experience managing academic programs and providing guidance and counseling to college students. She is responsible for academic articulation and meeting local and international accreditation requirements.
Monica Leon
Mónica holds a Bachelor of Science in Business from Towson University, a Master of Human Resources and Organizational Behavior from the University of Louisville, a Master of Business Administration from Florida International University and a Master of Linguistics Applied to English with Specialization in Teaching English to Student of Other Languages from Quality Leadership University. Mónica has over ten years of experience in teaching and administrating English as a Second Language Programs. She is responsible for assuring all students have the required English proficiency to be admitted and to continue their studies at QLU Online School and providing English preparation courses based on students’ needs.
Mariela Castillo
Mariela holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Universidad Latina and a Master of Business Administration from University of Chile. Mariela has more than 15 years of experience managing college student services programs. She is responsible for the development and management of student services programs and activities.
Laura Villarreal
Laura holds a Bachelor of Teaching English from University of Panama and a Master of Human Resources Management and Development with Quality Leadership University is currently pursuing a Master of Education Concentration in International Teaching with Framingham State University.. Laura has more than 5 years of experience teaching English, tutoring, and counseling students for academic success. She is responsible for coordinating the assistance of Learning Coaches and Tutors and to monitor the success of all students enrolled in the program.
Katisha Ramos
Katisha Ramos holds a Bachelor of Advertising from University of Panama and a Master of Marketing from University of Chile. Katisha has over 15 years of experience counseling and advising college students and directing academic undergraduate programs. She is responsible for counseling student on career and college options and to assist them with their college applications.
Hilmar Castro
Hilmar Castro holds a Bachelor of Mathematics with Major in Computer Mathematics and Statistics, a Master of Mathematics with Major in Numerical Analysis and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Universidad Simon Bolivar, Venezuela. She has a Graduate Certificate in Strengthening Teaching and Learning in STEM Education from LASPAU (Affiliated with Harvard University) and a Graduate Certificate in Scientific Research Methods from QLU. She also has a certification in Advance Placement Programs from the University of Louisville. Hilmar has over 20 years of teaching experience at high school and college level. She is responsible for assuring the success of our students in the quantitative areas by supervising the curriculum content and guiding Math Tutors on how to better assist students. In her role she designs and manages the learning interventions to assure student’s success in quantitative courses.
Lucía León
Lucia has a Bachelor in Environmental Engineering from La Universidad San Carlos de Guatemala, Guatemala.and Master of Project Management from Quality Leadership University. She has a Higher Education Specialization from Quality Leadership University. Lucia has more than 3 years of experience tutoring students and teaching English. As a Learning Coach, she has the responsibility to assist students and help them with subjects in the Sciences.
Luisa Kirsch
Luisa has a Bachelor‘s Degree in Industrial Engineering from the Technological University of Panama, and she is also pursuing a Master’s Degree in Education with a concentration in International Teaching at Framingham State University. Luisa has experience teaching English and providing tutoring in the areas of math, physics, and calculus to help students achieve academic success. As a learning coach, Luisa has the responsibility of helping students and assisting them in their subjects so that they can pass them. She is dedicated to creating a positive and engaging learning environment for her students, where they can feel comfortable asking questions and receiving feedback.
